Syndicalist Women in Algeria between Social Obstacles and Organizational Factors: A Field Study of a Sample of Female Employees in the Education Sector

This study aimed to identify the reality of women's participation in syndical work in Algeria, in addition to highlighting the main obstacles they encountered, which are divided between cultural factors originating from society and organizational factors related to the work environment. The study was conducted on some women employees in educational institutions and employees in secondary schools in the city of Medea. It relied on the descriptive analytical method, through the administration of a questionnaire distributed to 50 working women. We concluded the following results: Women involved in syndical work suffer from several social and cultural obstacles almost equally with the professional obstacles they face. As a strategy, they managed to play on the fringes and maneuver within the syndical organization, thus overcoming the organizational obstacles that impede their career path. |
