Islamic architecture is characterized by a special and distinct style, mixing between decorations, geometric and botanical shapes, and inscriptions, as well as bright colors. All this diversity adds an artistic and aesthetic dimension on the one hand and a value and symbolic dimension on the other hand, as designers seek to express themselves and their ideas through their designs, and architecture includes many geometric formations and carries meanings and connotations that differ in their symbolism according to different references. Through this research paper, we aim to study the symbolism of the architecture of the palace of Hadj Ahmed Bey in the city of Constantine, Algeria, using the semiological analysis grid. |
