يهدف هذا البحث إلى بيان الدور الكبير الذي تؤديه ظاهرة الإحالة بنوعيها النصية والمقامية في ترابط النص وتماسكه، كما توضح لنا أهمية العناصر الإحالية في تضافر جزئيات النص من خلال قيامها بدور فعال في إحداث التماسك والتراصف بين أجزاء النص، كما تمنح العناصر الإشارية التدفقات الحيوية اللازمة للحمة النص وقوة نسيجه، وإذا كانت الإحالة النصية تقرب أجزاء النص وتربطها ربطا شديدا وتزيد من حالة الالتحام والتماسك بينهما، فإن الإحالة المقامية تربط النص كاملا بمحيطه الخارجي، وتحقق ذلك التواصل المنشود بين النص وبين بيئته الخارجية وفضائه الكبير. كما تضيف للعلاقة الوثيقة بين منتج النص ومستقبله مزيدا من الصلات. ولذلك تعد الإحالة أكثر العناصر الاتساقية حضورا في النصوص المختلفة. لقد أثبت الشيخ: صالح بن حميد من خلال خطبته "المال بين الخيرية والفتنة" مدى تمكنه من استخدام الأدوات التي تساعد في ترابط النص، فقد استخدم الضمائر وأسماء الإشارة والأسماء الموصولة، تلك العناصر الإحالية التي قامت بدور بارز في توضيح وإيصال المعنى المراد من النص، فضلا عن توفير شبكة من العلاقات بين العناصر الداخلية للنص وكذلك بين النص وبين عالمه الخارجي. ويمكن القول بأن الإحالة في تلك الخطبة باعتبارها عنصرًا من عناصر الاتساق قد حققت الهدف المنشود منها فربطت بين أجزاء النص عبر التجسيد الحي الملاحظ من خلال العناصر الإحالية.
