المستخلص: تعد الأوقاف العلمية من أعظم روافد التنمية في المجتمع، فضلاً عن كونها مظهراً من مظاهر التكافل الاجتماعي، وهي فضيلة دينية ووطنية واجتماعية، ومن أهم الركائز الحضارية التي تسهم إسهاماً عظيماً في نهوض الأوطان. ولقد كان للشريعة دور هام في ترسيخ وتأصيل خيرية الأوقاف بشكل عام؛ تحقيقاً لمصالح العباد والبلاد عبر العديد من النصوص الشرعية، مما يدل على أهمية الأوقاف البالغة بكافة مناحيها وأشكالها في الشريعة الإسلامية، ونظراً لذلك جاءت هذه الدراسة لتسليط الضوء على نوع من أنواع هذه الأوقاف؛ ألا وهي الأوقاف العلمية، للوقوف على مدى إسهامها في تحقيق المقاصد الشرعية، وتطبيق هذه الدراسة عملياً على إحدى أبرز الأوقاف العلمية بالمملكة العربية السعودية، وهو الوقف العلمي بجامعة الملك عبد العزيز بجدة. وقد تم استعراض أبرز البرامج والأنشطة والمشاريع التنموية والخيرية التي يقوم بها في هذا البحث، ومدى إسهامها في تحقيق هذه المقاصد، عبر مقدمة وفصلين على النحو التالي: الفصل الأول: الأوقاف العلمية وإسهامها في إقامة مقاصد الشريعة الإسلامية الحاجية والتحسينية. الفصل الثاني: الوقف العلمي بجامعة الملك عبد العزيز بجدة، وإسهامه في إقامة مقاصد الشريعة الإسلامية الحاجية والتحسينية. وخلصت إلى خاتمة ذكرت فيها أبرز النتائج والتوصيات.

Educational endowment is considered one of the most important sources of social development and a critical aspect of the cooperative activities of the community. A great virtue of religious, national, and social significance, it is certainly one of the essential pillars of civilization and provides a great contribution to the advancement of nations. Sharia has played a vital role in the establishment of endowments, in general, to fulfill the objectives and align the interests of the nation and its residents. This pinpoints the extreme importance of all the manifestations of charity and endowments in Islamic Law. This study sheds light on one of the types of these endowments; namely, scientific endowments, to determine the extent of their contribution to achieving the Legitimate Purposes of shariah. It will apply the findings of the study to the scientific endowment at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. The research reviews the most prominent development and charitable programs, activities, and projects undertaken by the said establishment. The extent of their contribution to achieving these goals is evaluated. The essay is presented through an introduction and two chapters as follows: Chapter One: Scholarly endowments and their contribution to establishing the necessary as well as the improvable purposes of Islamic law. Chapter Two: The Scientific Endowment at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, and its contribution to establishing the necessary purposes of and the goals that improve the conditions of citizens in Islamic Sharia. Finally, the conclusion recounts the most prominent results and recommendations of the study.
