المستخلص: هدف البحث الراهن إلى رصد مدى ملائمة مدارس دولة الكويت من حيث التصميم المعماري لتلبية احتياجات ذوي الإعاقة، وتكونت عيدة البحث من (200) معلما ومعلمه و(200) ولي أمر/ ولية أمر. ولتحقيق هدف البحث قام الباحث ببناء مقياس مكون من (15) فقرة، وذلك بغرض رصد مدى ملائمة مدارس دولة الكويت من حيث التصميم المعماري لتلبية احتياجات ذوي الإعاقة وتم التأكد من صدق الأداة وثباتها. وقد بينت نتائج البحث أن درجة ملائمة مدارس دولة الكويت من حيث التصميم المعماري لتلبية احتياجات ذوي الإعاقة من وجهة نظر المعلمين كانت منخفضة ما يعني وجود قصور، حيث جاءت الفقرة 4 والتي تنص على " هل يوجد في مدرستكم فصول معدة جيدا لتلائم احتياجات ذوي الإعاقة" بالمرتبة الأولى بأعلى متوسط حسابي، بينما جاءت الفقرة 2 "هل يتوافر مصعد في مدرستكم" بالمرتبة الأخيرة بأقل متوسط حسابي. كما أظهرت النتائج درجة كلية متوسطة من وجهة نظر أولياء الأمور، ما يعني أنها ليست كما يجب، حيث جاءت الفقرة رقم 7 والتي تنص على " هل تصميم المدارس يسهل على المتعلمين من ذوي الإعاقة التنقل في مرافقها بشكل سهل ميسر" بالمرتبة الأولى بأعلى متوسط حسابين بينما جاءت الفقرة 15 والتي تنص على " هل الحديقة المدرسية أو ملاعب المدرسة مخصصة لتلائم احتياجات ذوي الإعاقة." بالمرتبة الأخيرة بأقل متوسط حسابي. كذلك أظهرت نتائج البحث وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية لصالح المعلمين بين المتوسطات الحسابية لاستجابات أفراد البحث على المقياس ككل.

The current research aims to monitor the suitability of schools in the State of Kuwait in terms of architectural design to meet the needs of people with disabilities. The research sample consisted of (200) male and female teachers and (200) male/female guardians. To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher built a scale consisting of (15) items, for the purpose of monitoring the suitability of schools in the State of Kuwait in terms of architectural design to meet the needs of people with disabilities, and the validity and reliability of the tool was confirmed. The results of the research showed that the degree of suitability of schools in the State of Kuwait in terms of architectural design to meet the needs of people with disabilities from the point of view of teachers was low in all paragraphs, which means that there are deficiencies, as paragraph 4 came, which states: “Does your school have well-prepared classes to suit the needs of People with Disabilities” ranked first with the highest average, while paragraph 2 “Is there an elevator in your school” ranked last with the lowest average. The results also showed an average overall score from the parents’ point of view, which means that it is not as it should be, as paragraph No. 7, which states, “Does the design of schools make it easy for learners with disabilities to move around their facilities in an easy and convenient manner?” came in first place with the highest average of two accounts, while Paragraph 15, which states, “Does the design of schools make it easy for learners with disabilities to move around their facilities in an easy and convenient manner?” came in last place with the lowest arithmetic mean. The research results also showed that there were statistically significant differences in favor of teachers between the arithmetic averages of the research individuals’ responses on the scale as a whole.
