|a إذا كان قد استقر في الفكر اللغوي قديمه وحديثه أن اللغة هي وسيلة التفاهم الرئيسة، فقد شهد الاستعمال اللغوي منعطفا جوهريا في العقود الأخيرة بات يشكك في هذه المسلمة باعتماده على خطاب متعدد الوسائط أضحت فيه اللغة بطبعها جزءا مفردا، كما أن التفاعل بين الوسائط جزء أصيل في إنتاج المعنى، الأمر الذي يتجه صوب التركيز عليه في معالجة الخطاب وتحليله. هل يمكن أن تكون معرفتنا باللغة معرفة نهائية من حيث إنتاجها وتوصيلها وفهمها؟ وما الذي يجعل اللغة قابلة لتعدد الدلالات إذا كنا نأخذ باهتمام الإدراكيين لموضوع الدلالة، طالما أن الغاية من اللغة هي التواصل وتحقيق التفاهم عن طريق الفهم؟ ولماذا نختلف في فهم اللغة نفسها وتراكيبها اللغوية؟، إن البحث في العالم الإدراكي قد يعين للخروج بإجابات شافية عن هذه التساؤلات وما يتصل بها في الحديث عن مسائل الجانب العقلاني والتكوين الذهني.
|b If it has been established in linguistic thought, both ancient and modern, that language is the main means of understanding, linguistic use has witnessed a fundamental turning point in recent decades that has begun to question this axiom by relying on a multi-media discourse in which language has become, by its nature, a single part, and the interaction between media is an integral part of the production of meaning, which tends to focus on it in the treatment and analysis of discourse. Can our knowledge of language be final knowledge in terms of its production, communication and understanding? What makes language susceptible to multiple meanings if we take into account the interest of cognitiveists in the subject of meaning, as long as the purpose of language is communication and achieving understanding through understanding? And why do we differ in understanding language itself and its linguistic structures? Research in the cognitive world may help to come up with satisfactory answers to these questions and what is related to them in talking about the issues of the rational side and mental formation.
