|b Lebanon and Syria share deeply rooted political and cultural ties throughout history. As a result of this close relationship, political transformations in each country have significantly affected the other. This study analyzes the political, religious, and social implications of the new political system to be established in Syria following the fall of the Baath regime, and its repercussions on Lebanon. Initially, the historical background of the relationship between Lebanese politics and the Baath Party will be reviewed, highlighting how the ideology of the Baathist system influenced Lebanon. Finally, the study will examine the potential political and sectarian dimensions of Syrian-Lebanese relations in the post-Assad era.
