المستخلص: لقد تناولت هذه الدراسة سيرة الأمير العباسي عيسى بن موسى ودوره السياسي في الدولة العباسية، الذي يعد أحد أهم القادة الأبطال من البيت العباسي، فقد أسهمت مشاركاته منذ بدء الدعوة العباسية في الحميمة، إذ اعتمد عليه الخلفاء العباسيون الأوائل في قيادة الجيش العباسي، للقضاء على الجيش الأموي، والتصدي للخارجين على الدولة، فقاد المعارك ضدهم واستطاع القضاء عليهم، فمن خلال النجاحات العسكرية والانتصارات التي حققها استطاع أن يمهد الأمور ويوطد دعائم الدولة العباسية حتى استقرت في الكوفة معلنة قيام الخلافة العباسية سنة ١٣٢ه/ ٧٤٩م، كما حضي عيسى بن موسى بمكانة عالية في الخلافة العباسية، فقد تقلد منصب ولاية العهد لثلاثة من الخلفاء العباسيين حتى سنة ١٦٠ه/ ٧٧٧م، فكان من احترام أعمامه له واختياره لمنصب ولاية العهد من بين أفراد البيت العباسي لهي دلالة واضحة على ما يتمتع به من مكانة دون غيره، لذلك جاءت هذه الدراسة لتلقي الضوء على سيرة هذا الأمير وتبين أهميته السياسية والقيادية وأسباب اختياره لولاية العهد للدولة العباسية دون منافس، كما نقف على تحليل بعض الروايات التاريخية المهمة لمعرفة أهمية الأمير عيسى بن موسى ومكانته، خاصة في مسألة ولاية العهد في الدولة العباسية.

This study is concerned with the biography of the Abbasid Prince Eissa Bin Moussa and his political role in the Abbasid State. Since Prince Bin Moussa had been considered one of the most significant leaders from the Abbasid State, his contributions had started as of the Abbasid era in Humaimah. Early Abbasid Caliphs had relied upon Bin Moussa to lead the Abbasid Military and eradicate the Umayyad Army and arrest the outlaw thugs and rebels operating against the State. He led the battles and managed to eradicate them. Through military triumph and victories achieved, Prince Bin Moussa had managed to pave the way and reinforce the pillars of the Abbasid State until its settlement in the city of Kufa and declaration of the emergence of the Abbasid Caliphate in 132ᴬᴴ | 749ᴬᴳ. Prince Eissa Bin Moussa had been ranked high in the Abbasid Caliphate, as he held the position of ‘Crown Prince’ during the reign of three Abbasid Caliphs up through 160ᴬᴴ | 777ᴬᴳ. The respect shown by his uncles and his selection to hold the position of ‘Crown Prince’ among members of the Abbasid Court may refer to nothing but a clear indication to the prestigious rank entertained by the above-named prince. To this aim, this study comes to shed light on the biography of this prince and is intended to demonstrate his political significance and leadership together with the justifications for his selection to hold unequivocally the ‘Crown Prince’ position. The study is also concerned with analysis of some significant historic narratives aiming to recognize the importance and rank of Prince Eissa bin Moussa– particularly in terms of the Order of Succession during the Abbasid State.
