The present study aims at studying the role of (SFD) in establishing small enterprises in order to face unemployment problem among newly graduates in Egypt.Several activities have been carried out since the establishment of (SFD) in 1990, the main activities are:• Formulating a program to develop projects.• Creating new real work opportunities for the newly graduated.• Developing the small enterprises to increase their productivity and capacity to create new job opportunities.The total available fund for developmental projects have reached 4.391 billion till the end of 2003.Since the creation of SFD, it managed to pump an amount of L.E. 6.054 billion into the national economy, whereas, loans and grants contributed by donor countries have reached L.E. 4.91 billion which create interest of L.E. 1.663 billion. As a result, SFD has succeeded in creating 1,063,000 job opportunities from the following:• Small and medium enterprises: L.E. 3.827 billion for small enterprises.• Micro enterprises: L.E. 148 million for micro enterprises, the share of women is 49%.• Public works and human development projects: L.E. 2.079 billion for public works & human development projects. |
