|a يثبت الحاكم الجشمي صفات الله تعالى التي وردت في القرآن الكريم، إلا أنه يتأول معناها، وهو بذلك يكون قد وافق بعض أهل السنة ممن تأول الصفات كالمحققين من الأشاعرة، وخالف البعض الآخر الذي أثبت الصفات من غير تأويل ولا تشبيه ولا تعطيل ولا تمثيل، وحجته في ذلك الأسباب التالية: 1. تنزيه الله تعالى عن مشابهة الخلائق. 2. نفي الجسمية عنه جل جلاله، الذي لا تحده الحدود والأماكن. اتسم أسلوبه في التعقب بعد ذكر رأيه والأدلة عليه بقوله: فيبطل قول البغدادية، فيبطل قول الجهمية، خلاف قول الطبائعية...، فالملاحظ أنه ينسب الألقاب لمخالفيه فمرة ينسبهم بالصفاتية ومرة بالرافضة وأخرى بالمجبرة وهكذا في تعقباته كلها. وقد اتخذ طريقة المتكلمين من مشايخه المعتزلة في الرد على المخالفين ذلك أنه قدم العقل على النقل، والذي يؤيد هذا أنه كان يرد بعض الأحاديث الصحيحة عند الخلاف إثباتا لرأيه وانتصارا لمذهبه، هذا وقد اتسم أسلوبه بطريقة السؤال والجواب: ومتى قيل: ...، قلنا...، الذي استقاه من منهج القران الكريم ومثاله: " ءأنتم أنشأتم شجرتها أم نحن المنشئون"، كذلك من منهج الرسول عليه الصلاة والسلام في تعليم الصحابة أمور دينهم، كقوله: أتدرون من المفلس؟
|b Al-Hakim Al-Jashmi asserts the attributes of the Almighty Allah that are mentioned in the Holy Quran. However, he interprets their meaning. In doing so, he concurs with the Sunnis who interpreted the attributes, such as the Ash’arite scholars. Yet, he opposed others who assert the attributes without anthropomorphism. His justification for this is as follows: 1. Glorifying the Almighty Allah so as not to attribute to him human characteristics. 2. Denying any anthropomorphism, for the Almighty is not limited by borders or spaces. His methodology of critique after giving his view and forwarding the evidence to prove it by saying: It negates what the Baghdadiyah, Juhamiyah and Taba’iyah said. It’s noteworthy that he gives titles to his opponents, once calling them the anthropomorphists, once the rejectionists and once the fatalists. He adopted the method of the scholastics of his Mu’tazilite teachers in arguing against those who opposed him. In this sense he prioritized logic over text. This is evident by the fact that he used to reject authentic traditions (Hadiths) when in dispute so as to assert his opinion and support his doctrine. His methodology was characterized by a question-and-answer approach, such as saying “when it is said … we say.” This is a method he derived from the Holy Quran, such as when it says: “Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower?” He also derived it from the methodology of the Prophet peace be upon him, as he taught his companions by saying to them: “Do you know who is a penniless
