تشكل هذه الدراسة محاولة علمية للكشف عن مظاهر التعصب القبلي والطائفي ومدي انتشاره في المجتمع الكويتي من وجهة نظر الطلاب وقد أجريت الدراسة في العام الدراسي 2010/2011علي عينة بلغت 1194 طالبا وطالبة من طلاب جامعة، وقد روعي في العينة تمثيلها للجنس والكليات الجامعية والأقسام العلمية والسنوات الدراسية المختلفة . وحاولت الدراسة الإجابة عن أسئلة كاشفة لرأي الطلاب في مدي حضور التعصب الطائفي والقبلي في المجتمع والكشف عن خلفياته الثقافية ودور الدولة في مواجهته وتعد هذه الدراسة من الدراسات الاستطلاعية حيث اعتمد منهج البحث الوصفي التحليلي في دراسة الإشكالية المطروحة. وقد بينت الدراسة في نتائجها حضورا كبيراً للتعصب بمختلف تجلياته الطائفية والعشائرية والدينية وبينت أن المثقفين ورجال الدين يمارسون دورا كبيرا في إزكاء جذوته في المجتمع الكويتي وبين الطلاب أفراد العينة انه يجب علي الدولة مواجهة تحديات هذا التعصب وإزالته كما بينت الدراسة أن أفراد العينة ينزعون إلي رفض التعصب بمختلف أشكاله ويتمنون إزالته واجتثاث جذوته من الحياة الاجتماعية. وبينت الدراسة تأثير متغير الكلية والسنة الدراسية في موقف الطلاب من مدى حضور هذه الظاهرة وتناميها في المجتمع. وقد خرجت الدراسة بعدد من التوصيات الهامة التي تتعلق ببناء استراتيجيات وخطط وطنية لمواجهة هذه الظاهرة واستئصال شأفتها.
This study represents a scientific attempt to reveal aspects of tribal and sectarian fanaticism and the extent of its prevalence at the Kuwaiti society from the point of view of Kuwait University students. The study was conducted during the academic year 2010-2011 on a sample of 1194 students at the University, taking into account a correct representation of both sex, university faculties, scientific departments and the different years of college. The study aims at identifying students views regarding to the extent of presence of tribal and sectarian fanaticism in the society, as well disclosing the cultural backgrounds of this phenomenon and the role of state at facing it, using a descriptive and analytical research method to study the issue in question. The results of this survey study show a large presence of fanaticism in its various sectarian, tribal and religious manifestations. Furthermore, it shows that intellectuals and clergy play a major role in reviving the flame of fanaticism in the Kuwaiti society. While is also reveals that students consider that the state must meet the challenges of fanaticism and eliminate it. In addition, the study shows that members of study sample tend to reject fanaticism in all its forms, and also reflects their wishes to eradicate this phenomenon from social life. As well as it shows a significant impact of year of college and specialty variables in students attitude of the presence of this phenomenon and its proliferation in the Kuwaiti society. Finally, the study comes out with several recommendations and proposals regarding the construction of strategies and plans to address this phenomenon and to eradicate it from Kuwaiti society.
