تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة ومناقشة موقف المعلمين والمعلمات في دولة الكويت من موضوع العقاب البدني وأسبابه وآثاره في الحياة المدرسية استنادا لسنوات الخبرة في المهنة، وجنسهم، وجنسيتهم، ومناطقهم السكنية. والمنهج المتبع في هذه الدراسة هو المنهج الوصفي التحليلي حيث سيقوم الباحثون ببناء إطار مفاهيمي عام للموضوع ثم القيام بتصميم استبانة لدراسة قضية العقاب البدني من منظور المعلمين والمعلمات في المرحلة المتوسطة في دولة الكويت. وتنبع أهمية هذه الدراسة من كونها ترصد الواقع وتحلله وصولا إلى فهمه وترشيد مستوى التعليم وتقديم معلومات كافية للمربين وصانعي القرار بما يتواكب مع التوجهات التربوية المعاصرة. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة نتائج منها أن العينة أكدت على ضرورة التدرج في العقاب وأنه أمر مطلوب، وأن أهم سبب لاستخدام العقاب البدني هو السلوك غير الأخلاقي للطالب، وعدم احترام الطالب لمعلمه، وأن من أهم آثار العقاب البدني كراهية الطالب البيئة المدرسية. وأوصت الدراسة ببضعة توصيات منها أهمية الامتناع التام عن ضرب الأطفال والعمل على تنفيذ القوانين المدرسية في هذا الشأن وفهم مقاصدها.
This study aimed to grasp and discuss the position of teachers in the State of Kuwait from the issue of causes and effects of corporal punishment in school life. The teacher's view will be analyzed based on years of experience in the profession, gender, nationality, and districts. The approach taken in this study is descriptive analytical approach, in which the researchers will build a conceptual framework for the topic and design a survey to discuss the issue of corporal punishment from the perspective of teachers in middle schools in the State of Kuwait. The significance of this study is indeed being monitored and analyzed in order to understand and rationalize the Level of education. It also provides adequate information for educators, decision makers, and parents to cope with the contemporary educational trends. The study found many results such as that most respondents stressed the need for gradual punishment, and the most important reason for the use of corporal punishment is the unethical behavior of the students, and lack of respect for the student to the teacher. One of the most important effects of corporal punishment is the development of hatred towards the school environment. The Study recommended a few recommendations which are the importance of strictly refraining from beating children and the need to work on the implementation of school laws in this regard and understanding of its purposes.
