خلص هذا البحث الذي تناول الجانب التطبيقي في البحث الجغرافي إلى العديد من النتائج المهمة أبرزها، أن تطور فهم الخصائص الجغرافية على مختلف الصعد والمجالات ساق المجتمع إلى اللجوء نحو أبحاث ودراسات الجغرافيا ذات التخصص العالي والنتائج الدقيقة، لقد أسهم الاتجاه التطبيقي في الجغرافيا في فتح الأفاق العلمية الرحبة أمام توجهات الجغرافيين وتحقيق رغباتهم الجادة في الاندماج العلمي مع مجتمعاتهم والإسهام في تنميتها لقد خضع مفهوم الجغرافية التطبيقية إلى العديد من المفاهيم (Concepts) المنطقية على اختلاف نظرتهم للاتجاه التطبيقي وكيفية تحقيقه، ألا أن جميعها تتجه نحو قاسم مشترك وهو (خدمة المجتمع) من خلال ما يميز هذه الأبحاث عن غيرها أنه يمتلك الرؤية النفعية التي أسس من أجلها والتي تحقق نتائج ومخرجات علمية دقيقة يمكن الاستناد إليها في صناعة المشاريع وخدمة المؤسسات لارتباطها المباشر بمحور من محاور التنمية المكانية على الصعيدين المحلي والإقليمي. أما على صعيد المحتوى وفلسفة البحث التطبيقي فيؤدي الجانب التخصصي الدور الأكبر في تطور الاتجاه التطبيقي في البحث الجغرافي بشكل دقيق، بعد أن سلك البحث الجغرافي منهاجاً وطرقاً بحثية متعددة منها المنهج الموسوعي والمنهج التعليمي والمنهج الوصفي والمنهج التعميمي التي جعلت منه بحثاً يكتفي بوصف الظاهرة وتحديد إبعادها العامة، لقد أنتج الاتجاه التطبيقي في الجغرافيا حلقة الوصل بين تلاقح الاتجاه الطبيعي والاتجاه البشري في الجغرافيا بشكل ملفت للنظر، مما أسهم في الوقت نفسه في توجيه أغلب الأبحاث في الجغرافيا المعاصرة الوجهة التطبيقية في مسيرتها، يمكن تلمس ذلك على الأقل من ملاحظة عزوف الأبحاث الجغرافية عن المناهج والأساليب الكلاسيكية والأخذ بالأساليب والمناهج الكمية (الرياضية)، التي تعد اليوم من أهم أسس البحث الجغرافي التطبيقي، أما عن أهم أسس وأهداف الاتجاه التطبيقي فقد حدد من خلال العديد من المحاور التالية: 1- الإسهام الجدي في حل مشاكل المجتمع المعاصرة ووضع التصورات العلمية لها. 2- تلبية متطلبات التنمية المكانية بكل خصائصها وإبعادها. 3- تطوير المنهج الجغرافي نحو الأسلوب التقييمي للمشكلة والحل. 4- مساندة العلوم التطبيقية والكمية من خلال تبادل النتائج العلمية واحترامها. أما عن الوسائل والطرق المتبعة في الاتجاه التطبيقي فهي عديدة أبرزها الاستخدام الأمثل للتقنيات الكارتوكرافية الحديثة بالاعتماد على المناهج الكمية (الرياضية) التي تساعد في اختصار طرق الحل بلغة الأرقام والابتعاد عن الاجتهاد والمبالغة، فضلا عن أتباع طرق المسح الميداني وتحديث بياناته بوصفه المصدر العلمي للبيانات الصحيحة الخام التي يعول عليها في البناء العلمي. \
The current study tackled the care with the applied geography through studying concept and content. It concluded several results as follows: Development of the geographical features concept- with all field led society to resort towards researches and geographical studies of high specialization and accurate results The applied direction of geography contributed in opening a wide scientific dimension before the geographers' plans carry out their serious desires in the scientific indulgence with the their communities and contribution in their development. The applied geography concept was defined by various logical definitions regardless of their understanding of the applied dimension and how to achieve, but all of them move towards one goal, that is (serving society) by distinguishing these researches from others, for having a utilitarian vision through which it was established. Which it also carries out accurate scientific results and outcomes. One may depend on in producing the projects and serving the enterprises for the direct connection with one of the spatial development devices locally and regionally. On the level of the content and applied research philosophy, the specialized part plays a great role in the applied direction development of the geographical research accurately that is, when the geographical research adopted various methods and styles such as encyclopedic approach, teaching approach descriptive approach and the generalization approach, which all of it a research made a research sufficient to describe the phenomenon and limit its common dimensions. The applied dimension in geography created a link between the natural dimension and human dimension in geography considerably The above contributed, at the same time, in guiding most contemporary researches towards the applied direction this can be noticed through neglecting the geographical researches for the classical methods and styles, and adopting the mathematical quantity methods and styles which is considered as one of the most important basis of applied geographical research. The most significant bases of the applied direction goals were limited in the following points: 1- The serious contribution in solving the contemporary social problems. 2- Supporting special development requirements with all its features and dimensions. 3- Improvement the geographical method towards the assessment style for the problem and its solution. 4- Sustaining the applied and quantity sciences by exchanging the scientific results and respecting them. Concerning the followed methods and ways in the applied direction, they are various, and one of the most important way in the perfect use for the modem cartographic techniques by depending upon the mathematical, quantity methods which help to reduce solution ways with numerals language through going away from endeavor and exaggeration. This is, in addition to the following field survey ways and updating its data by describing the scientific source for the rude perfect data that the scientific construction relies on.
