المستخلص: The study of al-Najaf at-Ashraf's local climate reveals the climatic features represented by (temperature, wind, humidity, rain fall) as well as the severe weather phenomena occurring constantly as the dust and high heat and cool weather. This comes as a result of revealing the natural and human factors affecting the local weather of the city. Through that the study was able to reveal the variations occurring in the climatic factors among the sectors of the city, on one hand, and between the city and its adjacent countryside, on the other hand. Several local factors of the city were recognized related to its location, position, size, shape, morphology, its growth and expansion, the type of construction its color and height, the width of its streets as well as the intensity of the human activities and the type of those activities that affects the local climate. These factors explain the spatial variation of the climatic factors within the city and out of it represented by its countryside. The study is based on the field measures of the factors to determine the climatic features of the city in details through the adoption of the analytical method and the quantitative style that were used in analyzing the data and processing them by the use of the statistical methods as the "Simple Correlation Coefficient" which led to determining the effect of each factor in explaining the variation of the climatic factors and the pattern of its spatial distribution in the city. All of which helped in achieving the aims of the study through making full use of its results in the planning sector of the city and organizing the utilities of its lands and limiting the severe weather and air pollution in a way that goes with the life of its inhabitants.
