هدف هذا البحث إلى تقديم دراسة مسحية للوضع الأكاديمي للطلبة المقبولين ضمن فئة الأقل حظا في الجامعة الهاشمية، وأسباب وقوع معظمهم تحت مفعول الإنذارات الأكاديمية والدراسة الاستدراكية وفصلهم من التخصص، وربطها بمتغيرات البحث وبيان علاقة ذلك بتخصصاتهم الأكاديمية. وقد سعت هذه الدراسة إلى الإجابة عن الأسئلة التالية: (١) ما أعداد الطلبة المقبولين والمنذرين والمفصولين من التخصص، والمفصولين من الجامعة، والمنقولين من التخصص ضمن فئة الأقل حظا في الكليات المختلفة في الجامعة الهاشمية خلال السنوات 1995- 2001؟ (٢) هل هناك اختلاف في قدرات الطلبة، ومهاراتهم، وحاجتهم إلى المساعدة الأكاديمية، وحاجتهم المادية، وتكيفهم الاجتماعي، واتجاهاتهم نحو الدراسة وفقا لاختلاف الكليات التي ينتمون إليها؟ ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة تم إعداد استبانة وزعت على الطلبة الأقل حظا في الجامعة الهاشمية، وقد أجاب عن الاستبانة بشكل كامل 101 طالب وطالبة من مختلف الكليات. وقد أظهرت الدراسة أن هناك نسبة كبيرة من الطلبة المقبولين ضمن فئة الأقل حظا يتعثرون في دراستهم. فقد تراوحت نسبة الطلبة المنذرين إلى الطلبة المقبولين من هذه الفئة ما بين 32.1 % في أدناها إلى 65.1% في أعلاها. وقد بينت نتائج الدراسة أن هناك فروقا ذات دلالة بين الكليات في ثلاثة أبعاد هي قدرات الطلبة، ومهاراتهم، واتجاهاتهم نحو الدراسة. وظهر أن هناك فروقا ذات دلالة بين كليتي الرياضة، والعلوم والآداب فيما يتعلق بقدرات الطلبة لصالح طلبة الرياضة. كما ظهرت فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في بعد المهارات بين طلبة كلية الاقتصاد، وطلبة كلية العلوم والآداب، ولصالح طلبة العلوم والآداب؛ وأن هناك فروقا ذات دلالة بين كليتي الرياضة، والعلوم والآداب فيما يتعلق باتجاهات الطلبة نحو الدراسة، لصالح طلبة كلية الرياضة، وبين كليتي التربية والاقتصاد، ولصالح الاقتصاد، وبين التربية والرياضة، لصالح طلبة الرياضة.
This study aimed at investigating the academic status of the disadvantaged students at the Hashemite University, and the reasons behind their academic failure and low retention rate in their departments. The study aimed at answering the following questions: 1-What is the number of accepted disadvantaged students, who are under academic probation, expelled from the program, or expelled from the University in the different faculties at the Hashemite university? 2- Is their a difference in students abilities, skills, need for academic assistance, financial needs, social adaptation and their attitudes toward studying in relation to their different faculties? To investigate this issue, a questionnaire was developed and administered to the disadvantaged students in different departments, and a sum of (101) copies of the questionnaire were filled and returned. The study revealed that there are statistically significant differences between students due to their colleges in three dimensions: students abilities, students skills, and their attitudes towards studying. It also revealed that there are statistically significant differences between the faculty of physical education and sport sciences and the faculty of arts and sciences concerning students skills and in favor of the students in the faculty of physical education. There were also statistically significant differences in students skills between the students in the faculty of economics and the students in the faculty of arts and sciences. The results were in favor for the students of the faculty of arts and sciences. There were also statistically significant differences between the faculties of physical education and arts and sciences concerning students attitudes towards studying in favor for the faculty of arts and sciences, and between the faculty of educational sciences and economics in favor for the students in the faculty of economics and between the faculties of educational sciences and physical education in favor for the students in the faculty of educational sciences
