المستخلص: A workshop was held in Beirut, on 24-5-2006, by the international Lebanese university and Middle East studies center (MESC). Participants asserted importance of developing anew vision to direct the Arab- Israeli conflict. Discussion centered on the following subjects: Policies and programs suggested with regard to Arab popular and official dimension. At popular level: participants agreed on importance of putting Arab policies to solve problems with the west and effective powers in the Arab region. They noticed significance of oil, migrant Arab capacities, absence of democracy, the need for mobilizing capacities in light of clear material and human potentials, development of an Arab revival project, and future of Palestinian and Lebanese resistance movements. At official level: participants emphasized that Arab- Israeli conflict is an Arab-western dispute and completion. They suggested programs and policies to guide possible scenarios of Arab- Israeli conflict up to 2015. among them are: encouraging local reform, holding conciliation between main trends, activation of Arab productivity potentials, deciding an Arab vision to face the Zionist project, and stressing the Arab dimension of Palestinian resistance. suggested policies and programs: Participants centered on Palestinian situation and independence of their decision at the presence of Hamas in the government. They called for re-construction of PLO as a national liberation movement, on the basis of a unified struggle program. Some participants emphasized importance of the refugee issue and their right to return, the Arab and Islamic depth of the Palestinian issue, activation of information media in service of the issue, and tight connections with Palestinians abroad. The workshop members discussed policed and programs related to Arab- Israeli conflict along the next ten years. They suggested some proposals to develop Arab potentials and encourage resistance movement, activation of reform programs, development of Arab weight and influence over international system, and exerting pressure on US to modify its policies towards the conflict. The workshop is a part of a program under the leader ship of MESC to develop Arab policies and programs in handling the Arab- Israeli struggle.
