المستخلص: The Iraqi parliament intends to pass an oil law to open the way for American companies to exploit Iraqi oil at detrimental conditions to Iraq. Russian companies which had concluded agreements with the former government of Sadam Hussein now have endangered contracts, owing to Russia's opposition to the US occupation. French and Chinese companies face the same dangers. The United States consumes one quarter of world production and is eager to exploit Iraqi oil. Iraqi oil reserves are estimated at 112 billion barrels. There are 73 oil fields in the counlry, but 15 only have been developed yet. Iraqi oil production capacity has been affected by US attacks in March 2003 and subsequent destruction, thus declining to 1034 million bpd. It also led to import of large quantities of oil byproducts by Iraqi authorities. Today, after four years of occupation Iraq's oil is still suffering from disasters, among which is The daily plunder of more than 200,000 barrels.
