المستخلص: Focusing on the current Sudanese scene, the article first sheds the light on the external and internal causes that led to the probable separation of the south, and then discusses the expected consequences of the separation. During the British occupation of Sudan (1898-1956), the south of the country had been separated by an independent military administration based in southern city of Juba. In the same context, Israel has early realized that the minorities in the Arab world might establish a natural allay to the new established Hebrew state in the region. Therefore, Israel has militarily assisted the southern revolutionary movements in face of the Sudanese army. In spite of the external elements that led to the separation of the south, the article emphasis as well on the internal elements that led to the same result i, e, after the independence, the national governments have not worked to reunite and integrate the south through development programs, education etc..
