المستخلص: Public revolts have swept over a number of Arab countries to bring down regimes. Demands have been raised for constitutional and legislative amendments in a bid to construct genuine democracies for peoples to govern themselves by means of achieving stability, development, freedom, justice and equality. In light of these significant events, the Middle East Studies Center held a seminar titled Political and Public Transformations in the Arab World: Indicators and Scenarios, joined by several Jordanian academics, experts and politicians. The seminar was divided into two sessions: ‘Arab Public Activity: Indicators and Repercussions’ and ‘Arab Regimes vs. Peoples: Where to? (2011 Vision)’. The seminar concluded that: * All Arab regimes are undergoing a hard test to attain public legitimacy, get rid of past corruption and injustices, and release themselves of shameful submission to the West. * The new public activity reflects a number of developments, mainly a new era of governance, the collapse of fear culture, emergence of youth's role, and the accelerated talk of reform and change. * The Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict have been present in this activity, along with other demands, especially in the Jordanian case. * significance should be retained to the values, good manners and religion of the Arabs, as well as to the inter- Arab relations in a way that serves the peoples’ higher interests.
