Taha Hussein’s (TH) cultural criticism is in need of continual renewed study. This research focuses on one aspect of this criticism; i.e. comparative cultural criticism via studying TH’s knowledge intertextuality and the European influence in his thought and the literary intertextuality applied in his book "Pre-lslamic Poetry" through the concept of plagiarism. This research consists of eight sections: introduction, intertextuality and approach, thought intertextuality; literary comparisons, place intertextuality: Paris, supporting feminine literature, intertextuality and the theory of Plagiarism, conclusion. The researcher discusses THis understanding of the conflict between the old and the new, the idea of Dekartian doubt, and the lanson's historical approach which he was very much influenced by. The researcher also discusses, under thought intertextuality, THis ideas about mediterranianism, Egyptian centralism, teaching foreign languages, the concept of multi-lingualism and other related issues. The researcher concludes that TH gave legitimacy to the idea of innovativism and modernism, interaction with the other. teaching foreign languages, teaching comparative literature and giving due attention to world cultures at Egyptian Universities.
