المستخلص: Ethical Values in Ous bin Hijer,s poetry This research tries to study the ethical Values in the poetry of Ous bin Hijer ,one of the pre-Islamic great poets. The reach is divided into two topics preceded by a preface which deals with the definition of the ethical values, the poet's biography and technical status. The first topic studies the ethical values in the poetry of courage or bravery, while the second one studies the ethical values in the poetry of generosity. The following results are concluded: 1- Ous bin Hijer was reputed to courage poetry the value which he expressed in a moderate standard, because exaggeration expresses the emotional aspect of poetry, then he changed the style to present the human justification or the holy absolute to be a justified rule for poetic exaggeration, hence the courage characters became symbols of values, 2- The scarcity of the ethical Values of generosity, and being restricted to elegy, is due to the stability of ethics in this tribe, so the poet did not feel that this value is threatened save by the last of some of the symbols of this value. 3- The scarcity of the other Values poetry is an effect of the tribe strength and economic stability, so these values, for the poet, are not threatened, which is main reason of the ethic poetry.
