المستخلص: موضوع هذا البحث هو: (الفضاء الروائي فى رواية "الطواف حيث الجمر" لبدرية الشحي: دراسة تحليلية). يستند البحث إلى المنهج التأويلي، بغية الكشف عن حقيقة الخطاب الأدبي، والوقوف على جمالياته، وذلك بتناول الفضاء الروائي بأقسامه الثلاثة: الموطن الأم (عمان)؛ البحر؛ أرض المفر (أفريقيا). ومن بين الدوافع وراء إعداد هذا البحث أن الفضاء الروائي لم يحظ بدراسة مستقلة في التناولات السابقة التي عرضت للرواية، رغم أنه يتجاوز دوره، بوصفه خلفية تقع عليها الأحداث، إلى الكشف عن دلالات عميقة وردت تارة بتقنية الوصف، وأخرى بتوظيف الرمز، وثالثة بواسطة الصورة الفنية، فضلاً عن أن قراءتنا لهذا الفضاء لا تأتي بمعزل عن بقية العناصر الأخرى للرواية، استنادا إلى أنه يعد بؤرة فنية تجتمع فيها عناصر الرواية وتتشابك، وإلى أن الفهم الصحيح له، لا يتأتى إلا بالنظر إليه في علاقته بها.

This research studies the notion of space in the novel entitled “A1 Tawaf Hytho A1 Jamr” (Perambulating Around Embers) by Badriayah A1 Shehhi. In the analysis, the Hermeneutics methodology is used with the aim of revealing the nature of this literary discourse and its aesthetic value. To achieve this aim, the notion of space is studied by considering the three locations presented in the novel, namely the native land (Sultanate of Oman), the sea and the land of escape (East Africa). One of the motives for undertaking this research stems from the fact that the previous studies of the abovementioned novel have not given the notion of space the attention it deserves although this space helps to reveal deep implications in the text and is not confined to the presentation of background events. These implications are expressed using descriptions, symbols and figurative language. However, it must be pointed out that the other elements of the novel are taken into consideration when studying the notion of space in this novel since this space is of central artistic value where the elements of the novel are intertwined. Hence, the notion of space cannot be understood in isolation, but must be studied in relation to the rest of the elements that make up the novel.
