المستخلص: تناول البحث صورة الحرب وبشاعتها في الشعر الجاهلي بعد أن مهد للحرب بوصفها مظهرا من مظاهر الحياة العربية قبل الإسلام إذ وجد أن معظم قصائد العصر الجاهلي أو كلها لم تخل واحدة منها من الحديث عن الحرب أو ما يتصل بها، وهذا ما دفع القدماء الأوائل إلى إن يتنبهوا إلى علاقة الشعر بالحرب، أما المحدثون فقد نظروا إلى الموضوع من زاوية أخرى فانصبت جهودهم على البحث عن وظيفة الحرب في نضج واكتمال القصيدة العربية ثم بين البحث الأسباب التي جعلت من العربي أن يكون محاربا ومنها قساوة الظرف البيئي ومجموعة القيم والأعراف فأفرد فافرد الشعراء القسم الأكبر من قصائدهم للتغني بقيم الفروسية الشائعة في عصرهم على الرغم من مرارة الصراع المؤلم الذي تملكهم من ويلات الحرب ودمارها ثم استعرض البحث الشعراء الذي قبحوا صورة الحرب بعد أن تأملوا أحداثها وآلامها وفهم امرؤ القيس ومهلهل بن ربيعه وعبيد بن الأبرص وأوس بن حجر وزهير بن أبي سلمى وعنترة بن شداد وبشير بن أبي خازم وقيس بن زهير وقيس بن الخطيم وعروة بن الورد وغيرهم وتنبه البحث إلى الصورة القبيحة للحرب عند الشعراء الفرسان على وجه الخصوص الذين خبروا الحرب واصلوا بنارها فأودعوا ذلك في أشعارهم. الفرسان فضلا عن السادة الذين تبوؤا مركزا اجتماعيا مهما في ذلك العصر وخططوا للحرب والتنظير لها مما سهل على الباحث أن يخرج بآراء اصلية تدحض الآراء المتعجلة والمشبوهة التي قصدت الإساءة إلى العرب في ذلك العصر حينما وصفتهم بالتخلف وحب الحرب والقتال وخلص البحث إلى أن الحرب لم تكن الخيار المفضل لدى العرب في العصر الجاهلي بل اضطروا إلى خوضها تبعا للظروف البيئة والاجتماعية القاسية التي فرضت عليهم فضلا عن الالتزام بمبادئ العرب القبلي السائد آنذاك والتمسك بالقيم المثلى التي أقرها مجتمع الجاهلية وهذا ما دعا الشعراء إلى رسم تلك الصورة البشعة للحرب وآثارها المريعة.

The research dealt with the picture of war and its gothic in ignorant poetry after setting for war and describing it as appearance from the appearances of Arabic life before Islam . So it founded that the most poems in the ignorant period or all poems which were not empty from the speech about war or what about it and this motivated the ancient people specially writers to take care fore the relationship between war and poetry ,but modem writers looked to the subject from another point of view and they put their energies on the research about the purpose of war in the completion of the Arabic war , then the research showed the reasons which made from the Arabic man to be a fighter and one was the severity of circumstance environment and agroup of conventions and traditions ,So poets separated the largest department from their poems to talk about the traditions of knighthood in their period at that time although the painful conflict which they had because of war and its painful experiences. The research also showed the poest who opened the picture of war after they hoped the actions of war and one of them was Omroa Al-Kais, Muhlhul Bin Rabeeah , also Obeid Bin Al-abras , Aous Bin Hajar, Zuhair Bin Abie Sulma ,Antarah Bin Shadad .Busher Bin Abie Hazim ,Kais Bin Al- Khateem Erwa Bin Al-Wared and others .The research looked to the bad picture for war specially knighthood poets who proffered war and painted its fire, so they put that in their poetry and poems. .The conception of piece was repeated to refuse war and its effects in the literaries of most poets of knighthood also the men religion who tooks asocial center and important job in society at that time ,so those planed for war to make it too easy for researcher to fined out the views which make acontrast views that meant the wickdness for arab at that time when it described them with ignorance and love for war and fighting .The research summarized that war was not the best choice for arab in ignorant period but they decided to deal with war according to its environment circumstances which supposed them with the obligation of principles with tropical tradition which was common at that time and the obligation with the best conventions which decided the society of ignorance and this which made poets to draw these horror picture of war and its dreadful effects.
