The current study investigates the nature of the electronic journalism and the distinctive levels that differentiate it from the traditional journalism. To this effect, the study focuses on the foi lowing: Describing the electronic journalism in the context of the new electronic writings styles (the blogging style for example). This description requires isolating the journalistic discourse from the communicative and advertising discourse. Understanding the electronic discourse and its mechanisms and exploring its distinguished character compared with the traditional journalism. Reexamining the audience concept within the new relation- ships of the audience-electronic discourse, and discussing the validity of the use of the reception concept in the light of this new relationship Understanding the specialty of the electronic journalism, its unique discourse, its new relationships with the audience and its new tasks on inducing the public sphere Examining the new hypothesis of the renovation of the electronic journalism After discussing the specialty of the electronic journalism, its distinguished communicative formats, its discourse, its relation- ships with the audience/ users, and its functions to inducing the public sphere, the study concluded that: Electronic journalism needs new epistemological and methodol¬ogical tools to explore the growing nature of the electronic journalism.. It is capable of renovating the journalism writing style, based on its narrative and intertextuality style . It is also capable of reformatting the journalism - audience relations due to its interactive and participatory features. Electronic journalism is a genre that has new modalities and techniques. The electronic journalism is a dynamic and complex system, which comprises several technological innovations, and symbolic innovations (new writings tools) and cultural innovations (new mechanisms for constructing the public sphere. The electronic journalism is not separated from the institutionalized public, cultural and societal context, which is capable of, incite or hinder the innovations and inventions, This perspective leads to exploring the diversified and general cor (the technological, the cultural and the political context) and provides the base for renovating the journalism. There is a need for figuring out the new strategies of Arab electronic journalism. The main mission should focus on exploring its models and its practical significance The study proposed that there is rational strategy behind the stow adoption of the electronic journalism innovations in the Arab world, which is to protect Arab media from the potentials of diversity, pluralism and openness of the internet and as tool of monopolizing the public sphere.
