كثر اليوم اعتداء بعض الآباء على أموال أبنائهم، وكثرت الخصومات بين الآباء والأبناء حول هذه القضية، وقد تتقطع الأرحام بسبب ذلك، من أجـل ذلـك حاول الباحثان دراسة هذه القضية من خلال البحث في مدى سلطة الأب على مال ولده، وما له من حق في هذا المال، و خصوصاﹰ بعد ما اتكأ كثير من الآبـاء فـي الاعتداء على أموال أبنائهم على بعض نصوص فهمت فهما سقيما، وبعد دراسة ما ورد عن العلماء في هذه المسألة تبين للباحثين أن من الفقهاء من يقول بحـق الأب في مال ولده حتى وإن تجاوز حاجته، ومنهم من يقيد هذا الحق بحـدود حاجتـه، و توصل الباحثان إلى أن الراجح في هذه المسألة هو تقييد حق الأب في مال ولـده بقدر حاجته، وليس من حقه تجاوز ذلك، وحتى توصل الباحثان لهذه النتيجة فـإن الدراسة اقتضت التعرض لموضوعات الأهلية وحدود تصرفات الأب في مال ولده ومن ثم حق الأب في مال ولده.
