تناول هذا البحث موقف الصحافة الأردنية من الأزمة بين الحكومة الأردنية وحركة حماس في الفترة من ٣٠ آب إلى ٢٦ تشرين الثاني ١٩٩٩م معتمدين في إنجازه علـى صحيفة الرأي الأردنية. ومنذ البداية تعاملت الحكومة الأردنية بشكل واضح وشفاف مع قادة حماس، منتهجة الحوار المفتوح للوصول إلى حل يضمن تطبيق القانون، إذ اعتبرت حماس تنظيما فلسطينيا يعمل على الساحة الأردنية، وتحقيقا لقانون الأحـزاب الأردنـي المقر من قبل مجلس الأمة بتاريخ ٢ آب ١٩٩٢م، فإنه لا يجـوز لأي مـواطن أردنـي الانتماء إلى أي تنظيم غير أردني، لذلك أص رت الحكومة على ضرورة مغـادرة قـادة التنظيم الأراضي الأردنية مع إغلاق مكاتب الحركة التي سمح لها بالعمل على الـساحة الأردنية منذ مطلع التسعينات وفق شروط أهمها: عدم التدخل في الشؤون الداخلية، وعدم استخدام الأردن كقاعدة لتخزين السلاح والانطلاق منها لعمليات فدائية عبر الحدود. ومثل موقف الحكومة الأردنية بداية مرحلة القطيعة مع حركة حماس، والتي اسـتمرت حتـى نهاية عام ٢٠٠٦م، والتي تخللتها اتصالات سرية وغير معلنة، إلى أن تم الكشف عـن بعضها رسميا مع نهاية ٢٠٠٨م.
This research dealt with the position of the Jordanian press toward the crisis between the Government of Jordan and Hamas in the period from August 30 to November 26, 1999, depending on the Jordanian daily news paper, Al Rai to acomplish this research. From the beginning, the Jordanian government has dealt in a clear and definite way with Hamas leaders, pursuing an open dialogue to reach a solution that will guarantee the application of the law, as Hamas was considered a Palestinian organization working on the Jordanian arena. However, implementing the law of Jordanian parties, the headquarters of the Jordanian National Assembly on 2 August 1992, it is not allowed to any Jordanian citizen to enrole to any non-Jordanian organization and, therefore, the Government insisted on the need for the organization's leaders to leave the land with the closure of the offices of the Jordanian group, which allowed them to operate on the Jordanian arena since the early nineties under the terms: non-interference in internal affairs, and not to use Jordan asa base to store weapons and launch them in operations across the borders. This resolution of the Jordanian Government is considered as a block with Hamas which lasted till the end of 2006 during this period, there were secrect communications which have been revealed offically by the end of 2008.
