|a يُعد معجم "الجمهرة" لابن دريد من المعاجم اللغوية العربيّة التي خطت بالصنعة المعجمية خطوات إلى الأمام، فهو يعتبر من أمهات المعاجم العربية. فكما هو معروف فإن ابن دريد ألف معجمه "الجمهرة" بعد كتاب "العين" للخليل بن أحمد الفراهيدي "وكتاب الجيم" لأبي عمرو الشيباني بنحو مئة سنة ولم يصلنا بينهما وبينه معجم لغوي شامل. \ فعندما ألف ابن دريد معجم الجمهرة تلقاه العلماء بالترحاب وذلك بسبب شهرة مؤلّفه في اللغة، ولحاجة العصر إلى معجم جديد، يعضّد معجم "العين" ويسدّ ما فيه من نقص، ويتلافى ما فيه من عيوب. لكنه رغم ذلك لم يسلم من الذم ومن اتهامه بوجود خلط في أصول بعض الألفاظ. \ ويحاول هذا البحث الوقوف على أهم مميزات معجم الجمهرة وأهم المآخذ عليه ومناقشتها وذلك من خلال المنهج التكاملي. \ وقد اتجه البحث أولاً إلى التعريف بمؤلف المعجم أبي بكر محمد بن الحسن بن دريد الأزدي 223ه-321ه، وعرض لنشأته العلمية وشيوخه، وذكر أهم مؤلفاته وثناء العلماء عليه واعترافهم بعلمه وفضله، كما عرض للطاعنين عليه وأشار إلى العلل القادحة في ذلك الطعن. \ ثم اتجه البحث إلى تحليل موجز لمقدمة معجم "جمهرة اللغة" وبيان سبب تسمية المعجم والهدف من تأليفه، وذكر طبعاته المختلفة، وتوضيح المنهج الذي سار عليه ابن دريد في معجمه، والأبواب التي اشتمل عليها. \ وأخيراً ركز البحث على دراسة أهم مميزات المعجم، وأهم المآخذ عليه.

It is also considered a very remarkable lexicon and, as we can say it is the mother of Arabic dictionaries. \ It is known that “Ibn Duraid” comprised his lexicon after “Khalil bin Ahmad al-Faraaheedi” and “Abi Amr al-Shaibani” had written their own books “Al Ain” and “Al-Geem” in about 100 years, during this period we have not received any Arabic comprehensive lexicon. \ When “Ibn Duraid” wrote his book, it was very welcomed by the scholars because of the wide and good reputation of his writings especially in Arabic language; and because the era needed a new dictionary, “Al-Gamhara” reinforced “Al-Ain” dictionary, plugged its lack, and avoided its drawbacks. Nevertheless, it was still accused, critiseid and slandered of the assets of some words. \ This research is trying to focus on and discuss the most important features and advantages of “Al-Gamhara” lexicon and that’s through a descriptive analytical method. \ First, the research introduced the author “Abu Baker Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan bin Duraid Azdi” who was born in 223AH and died in 321AH. It also talked about the author’s life, inception, teachers, books, and the complements and the criticism about him. \ After that, the research analyzed briefly the introduction of the lexicon, and indicated why it was named by its name; and the reason of writing it. It also mentioned various additions and clarified the method that “Ibn Duraid” used in writing this book and the chapters included. \ In conclusion, the research focused on studying the most important features and drawbacks of this work.
