من أقدم محاولات التجديد في بنية القصيدة العربية، التي لم يفطن لها النقاد والدارسون، ما ابتكره عمر بن أبي ربيعة من تحويل القصيدة إلى رسالة غزلية تتوافر فيها كل مقومات كتابة الرسالة المعروفة من افتتاح بالبسملة والعنوان والختام وذكر الغرض الرئيس من الرسالة ووصف للرسول وأمانته وحذقة، ووصف لمواد كتابة الرسالة وغلافها أحياناً مع احتفاظ الرسالة بشكلها الشعري ولغتها الشعرية. والبحث يمثل عرضاً للقصيدة الرسالة الكاملة وخصائصها ولأنواع الرسائل الأخرى في شعر عمر كالقصيدة الرسالة غير الكاملة والرسالة الجوابية والرسالة البرقية والرسالة الشفوية والرسالة التوكيدية. كما تناول البحث بالدراسة لغة القصائد الرسائل وميلها إلى البساطة والسهولة والانسياب بسبب جنوحها إلى لغة الحياة اليومية وإلى شيوع اللغة النسائية التي حرص عمر على نقلها من رسائل حبيباية إلى قصائده من كثرة القسم والاستحلاف اللذين يشيعان في اللغة النسائية،كما حرص البحث على رصد الألفاظ والتعابير التي تتردد في أحاديث النساء والتي حرص عمر على استعمالها في شعره، كما لاحظ البحث فشو ظاهرة (التسهيل) والتجاوز على بعض القواعد اللغوية والنحوية في هذه الرسائل. وفي القصيدة الرسالة طرافة وجدة ابتكار فضلاً عن كونها المحاولة التجديدية الأولى في بنية القصيدة العربية وامتلاكها لغة خاصة فيها سهولة وجمال حرية بالدراسة.
One of the oldest renovations in the structure of the Arabic poem and which is not recognized by critics and scholars, is what had been innovated by Omar Bin Abi Rabia'a as he converted the poem into a love letter which comprised of all the elements of letter writing starting from the opening with the (Basmala), the title, the conclusion and mentioning the main purpose of the letter, besides a description of the envoy and his honesty and proficiency, in addition to a description of the material that the latter made of and its cover sometimes. Yet the letter preserves its poetic form and language. The paper represents a study of the complete letter poem and its characteristics in addition to the other kinds of letters in Omar's poetry, like the incomplete letter poem, the answering letter, the telegraph letter, the oral letter and the conformation letter. The paper also dealt with the studying of language of the letter poem and its being simple and easy besides being fluent for the cause of tending to daily life language and the widespread of the womanly language which Omar was keen to convey in his poems from the letters of his beloveds, appearing from the use of oaths and swears which are widely used by in woman's language. The paper is also devoted to observing the expressions and verbal which are resound in the women's speech and which Omar adhered to use in his poetry. The paper also observed the diffusing of the phenomena of (simplicity) and overcoming some language and grammar rules in these letter poems. The letter poem was comprised of originality and innovation aside from being the first renovation attempt in the structure of the Arabic poetry which ahs a special language characterized by simplicity and beauty which makes it worth studying.
