|b The current research aims at designing a sports training program using sand training and identifying its effects on the muscular ability of handball players. ITie researcher used the quasi-experimental approach (one-group design) with pre- and post- measurements. Sample (n=!2) was purposefully chosen from the first handball team of Tanta Sports Club (60% of the research community) - season 2010-2011. \ The researcher used the following tests and measurements: \ Height - vertical jump after approach with triple tempo - vertical jump from stance - percentile vertical jump - strength of wide jump from stance - inclined leg flexion - leg extension from sitting. \ Pre-measurements were taken on 9/10/2010. The main program was applied from 10/10/2010 to 18/12/2010. Post-measurements were taken on 19/12/2010 using the same protocol of pre-measurements. \ Results indicated the positive effects f sand training on muscular ability of handball players as means differences between the pre- and post¬measurements were in favor of post-measurements. \ \ \
