المستخلص: The recent Egyptian presidential election is a historic one for its significance for all Arab uprisings. If Shafiq had succeeded, they– not only that of Egypt– would have witnessed a great setback. It would have also raised hopes for beneficiaries in the region. The results were so controversial during both the 1st and 2nd rounds (23-24 May and 16-17 June respectively). It was the first time of its kind in the country that the Muslim Brotherhood comes to power, when the Freedom and Justice Party candidate Dr Mohammad Mursi won the elections. Such political developments reflect several features associated with relations, interactions, uprising future and state reform. The post-election era represents the beginning of a new stage in spite of the confusing constraints on the transition to democracy and balance of power.
