The Intellectual Movement witnessed a marked progress during the Ghurnada Kingdom period. The Kings (Sultanates) themselves were scholars and researchers. They enhanced the scholars for they were also sciencests, among them was the founder of the Kingdom the Sultan Mohammad Ibn Al- Ahmar. As a result the intellectual life reached its high progress in the rule of the Sultanate Abi Al-Haggag Yousif Bin Ismaeel Al- Nasry (733- 755A.H) and during the role of his son the Sultan Mohammad Al Ghny bi - Allah (755- 793A.H), the Sultan Abu Al-Haggag himself was Scholar and poet and he loved these fields of science. As a result many schools and scientific instituation appeared during this period in Ghunada Kingdom, and the kings asked the scohlars to visite Ghunada and then gave them a high position, and asked them to teach in the schools of the Kingdom different science.
