المستخلص: The dictionary of Tahtheeb AL-Lugha by Abi-Mansour AL-Azhari (370H.) has received a great attention by the old and contemporary researchers and scholars. Many researches and studies were written about this dictionary. What is obvious in these researches and studies is that the comments of AL-Azhari were the centre of many of them. Commentaries here mean those texts in which AL-Azhari starts with "I said" which usually conies after mentioning the narrations of the scholars from whom he has qouated or those from whom he has heard or talked to، from the speakers of standard Arabic. Inspite of the studies about AL-Tahtheeb. we have found that there are many questions in his commentaries which were not shed light on. among them are his grammatical comments which reveal his opinions on many grammatical issues. The present research entitled "Grammatical commentaries of AL-Azhari" in his book "Tahtheeb AL-Lugha" to investigate the grammatical questions included in these commentaries to study and analyze them in order to show the ideas of AL-Azhari and his attitudes towards these issues. dictionaries, and five parts classified according to the varying purposes of AL-Azhari in his commentaries as follows: Part One is devoted to the commentaries of AL-Azhari between acceptance and rejection. Part Two studies AL-Azhari commentaries between probability and direction. Part Three deals with AL-Azhari commentaries between presentation, agreement and documentation. Part Four is commentaries exclusive to AL-Azhari. Part Five is 0n the grammatical term in AL-Azhari commentary. We have depended 0n a group of grammatical books from which we have documented what AL-Azhari mentioned of grammatical issues, the centre of his commentaries. Most important of these books is: "The Book" by Sibaweih (180H.). The meanings of the Quran by AL-Fara‘ (207 H.), Majaz AL- Quran (AL- Quran Rhetoric) by Abi - Ubaida (210 H.). Our Methodology in this work is descriptive, sometimes with inclination to standavdization.
