This study shows that the influence of nationalist army officers has increased in the period from 1935 to the assassination of king Ghazi and the years the followed. This was at the expense of the political forces that were engaged in secondary conflicts and they tried to exploit the army to achieve their own ends. The Iraqi army has not played a major distinguished political role in modern history like it did in the period of this study whether at the level of taking part in the three military coups that took place in this era or its role in supporting the national issues especially by training and arming the Palestinian fighters, or through supporting the Syrians in the conflict with the French occupation under the name of mandate or the Turks who made an alliance with the French to cut the district of Iscandarone from them. This enflamed the national movement in the Iraqi Army, which indicated the near clash between the leaders of the national leaders such as Yaseen Al-Hashimi, Rasheed 'All Al-Gailani' , and the British and there supporters such as Noori as Saeed and Abdul-Illah and what happened during the events that preceded the assassination of king Ghazi the English agents. The contemporary history of Iraq which is the subject of this study cannot be explained without taking into consideration the political role of the Iraqi army in this period, which witnessed tremendous changes and events that require great care before making historical judgments. This is duty of the historian and the researcher whose goal is truth and objectivity in order to dig deep into history and not to deal only with surface events as most of the political, social and economic historical events cannot be dealt with superficially as they will remain hidden and need someone who explains them.
