ارتبط مفهوم تتابع الأفعال في اللغة الأكدية بعدد من الضوابط التي أدت إلى حدوثه وقد تم تقسيمها في هذا البحث إلى قواعدية ودلالية إذ جاءت القواعدية نتيجة الوظيفة النحوية التي أدتها عدد من الأدوات والصيغ الفعلية كالأداة – مَ ma-، وحالة الصلة التي رافقها ورود عدد من الأدوات النحوية وفي مقدمتها الأداة شً ša، موجودة أو مقدرة، وصيغة الماضي التام على وزن ييرتس iptaras فضلاً عن عدد من الأفعال التي لوحظ شيوع تتابعها. أما الدلالية فقد اقتصرت على عدد من الدلالات التي ارتبطت بالمعاني التي أدتها الأفعال المتتابعة كالسببية، والتوضيح، والإيجاز، والاستفهام، والإخبار، والنتيجة، والربط بين الجمل. وقد رافق ذلك توضيح عدد من الحالات التي تضمنتها عملية التتابع كتتابع أكثر من فعلين والفواصل بين الأفعال المتتابعة ممثلة بأدوات النفي والتمني وحروف العطف والضمائر الشخصية فضلاً عن الحالة الصرفية لتلك الأفعال من ناحية الصيغة وشخص الفاعل.
The sequence of Verbs’ concept in Akkadian was linked to a number of regulations which caused this concept. They were divided in this research into syntactic and semantic. The syntactic ones resulted from the syntactic function of many particles and verbal forms like the particle "ma"; together with the linking case which was accompanied by many syntactic particles like "ša" whether apparent or implied and the past perfect tense as is the case with "iptaras", in addition to a number of verbs which were regularly happen in sequence. As for the semantic ones, they were restricted to a number of indications linked to the meanings of the verbs in sequence such as the causal indication, elucidation, shortening interrogation, informativeness, effect and sentence joining indications. This was accompanied by clarifying a number of cases embedded in the sequence, as in the sequence of two verbs and the particles separating between the verbs in sequence like those of negation, supplementation, conjunction and the personal pronouns, add to that the morphology of those verbs with regard to form and the case.
