هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على واقع حقوق الإنسان، ومدى ممارسة هذه الحقوق في مؤسسات التعليم العالي الأردنية، ودور هذه المؤسسات في نشرها، والكشف عن العلاقة بين الممارسة وإسهامها في نشر ثقافة حقوق الإنسان، وفيما إذا اختلفت هذه العلاقة باختلاف الجنس، والتخصص العلمي، والمعدل التراكمي. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، وزعت أداة الدراسة على (٥٣٧) طالباً وطالبة، وتم اختيارهم باستخدام طريقة العينة متعددة المراحل، حيث طُبق عليهم مقياسان: أحدهما يقيس ممارسة حقوق الإنسان في مؤسسات التعليم العالي الأردنية، والآخر يقيس مدى إسهام هذه المؤسسات في نشر ثقافة حقوق الإنسان، وذلك بعد التأكد من دلالات الصدق والثبات. وأظهرت النتائج أن مدى ممارسة حقوق الإنسان في مؤسسات التعليم العالي متوسطة، في حين كان إسهامها في نشر ثقافة حقوق الإنسان قليلة، إضافة إلى وجود علاقة ارتباطيه طردية دالة إحصائياً بين الممارسة والإسهام. كما أوضحت النتائج أن ممارسة حقوق الإنسان في مؤسسات التعليم العالي قادرة على التنبؤ بإسهامها في نشر ثقافة حقوق الإنسان.
This study aims at investigating the status and practice of human rights in the Jordanian higher education institutions. The study also sheds light on the role of such institutions in spreading the culture of human rights. It also measures the differences between the practice and the contribution of the spreading of human rights culture in terms of gender, major field, and G.P.A. (Grade Point Average). To these ends, 537 volunteer students participated in this study. The subjects were chosen via a multiple-level sample. Two tools whose reliability and validity were verified were used. The first tool measures the practice of human rights, whereas the second addresses the contribution of such institutions to the spreading of the human rights culture. Results showed that the practice of human rights in the Jordanian higher education institutions is moderate while its contribution to the spreading of the human rights culture is low. Besides, a statistically significant positive correlation has been found between these two variables (practice & contribution). Results have also shown that the real practice of human rights in the higher education institutions has been found useful in predicting its contribution to the spreading of human rights culture, in general. \
