هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على الأبعاد الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والأمنية لظاهرة لغلاء المعيشة في المجتمع السعودي؛ التعرف على السياسات التي تم اتخاذها لمواجهة هذه الظاهرة ؛ ومحاولة اقتراح بعض الحلول المناسبة للحد من الآثار الناتجة عن هذه الظاهرة. حيث طبقت الاستبانة على عينة من أرباب الأسر السعوديين المتسوقين ببعض المراكز التجارية بمدينة جدة بلغت 381 مفردة، وخلصت النتائج إلى أن هناك أثارًا تترتب على ظاهرة غلاء المعيشة في المجتمع السعودي، منها الاجتماعية وأهمها: مساهمة غلاء المعيشة في ارتفاع نسبة الأسر المحتاجة للمساعدات من المؤسسات الاجتماعية المختلفة؛ وزيادة الضغوط النفسية على رب الأسرة؛ وانتشار عنوسة الشباب داخل المجتمع ؛ وزيادة الطلب على مساعدات الجمعيات الخيرية؛ وانحسار الطبقة الوسطى في المجتمع. والاقتصادية وأهمها: أن تراخي وزارة التجارة في مراقبة الأسواق خلق فرصة للتلاعب بالأسعار؛ وأن جشع التجار سببًا رئيسًا في موجة الغلاء التي تعيشها البلاد؛ كما أن تفاوت الأسعار في الأسواق دليلاً على التلاعب في السوق؛ وأن استغلال التجار لظروف الأزمة الاقتصادية العالمية ساهم في غلاء المعيشة في السعودية ؛ فضلاً عن أن هذه الظاهرة أدت إلى زيادة نسبة الفقر في المجتمع. والأمنية وأهمها: أن غلاء المعيشة سببًا في انتشار الفساد الإداري وتفشي الرشوة؛ وعمليات النصب على الآخرين؛ وتفشي ظاهرة سرقة المال العام؛ ولجوء بعض الأفراد إلى أساليب الكسب غير المشروعة؛ والتعدي على ممتلكات الغير من البعض بسبب ظروفهم الاقتصادية. وقد استعرض الباحث بعض السياسات والحلول التي تم اتخاذها لمواجهة ظاهرة غلاء المعيشة في المجتمع السعودي، ووضع بعض التوصيات التي من شأنها المساعدة في الحد من الآثار الناتجة عن هذه الظاهرة.
This study aimed to identify the social, economic, and security dimensions of the phenomenon of the high cost of living in Saudi society; to identify policies that have been taken to address this phenomenon; and try to propose some solutions to reduce the effects of this phenomenon. Survey questionnaires were distributed on a sample of household heads shoppers in some commercial centers in Jeddah City reached 381 of respondents. The results concluded that phenomenon of the cost of living have effects in Saudi society, including social effects such as: the contribution of living's cost in a high percentage of families in need of assistance from the various social institutions; and increased psychological stress on the head of the family; and the spread of delay of marriage between young people within the society; and increased demand for aid charities; and the decline of the middle class in society, and economic effects including that, the inaction of the Ministry of Commerce to monitor the markets has created an opportunity to manipulate prices; and the greed of traders a major cause in the wave of price rises experienced by the country; also the disparity in the markets' price an evidence of market manipulation; and exploitation of traders to the circumstances of the global economic crisis contributed to the high cost of living in Saudi Arabia; as well as that this phenomenon has led to increased poverty in the society, and the security effects such as: the high cost of living cause in the spread of administrative corruption and rampant bribery; and scams on others; and the prevalence of theft of public money; and some individuals resort to illegal methods of earning; and trespassing from the other because of their economic conditions. Researcher has reviewed some of the policies and solutions that have been taken to face the phenomenon of cost of living in Saudi society, and to develop some recommendations that will help to reduce the effects of this phenomenon.
