The present study reviews several writings by US and other Western scholars and thinkers on the US stance on the reform and uprisings witnessed in some Arab countries. After a deep reading, it is found that such Arab revolutions were not surprising to some American intellectuals, who predicted the revival of the caliphate. Many of them even voice their fear of the return of Islam, as signs have appeared in some Arab uprisings states. On the other hand, others are so concerned of the loss of the US influence in the region upon the emergence of other powers, as was the case with the Iranian Revolution. They agree that the US stand on the Arab Spring is weak and disappointing, or rather unfair, to Israel although it should be a strong one. They argue that the single solution is to take a straightforward attitude of maintaining Israel strong, as its only ally in the region. A third party believes that Washington still has the chance to impose its influence on the political situation in some states, especially Egypt, for the Middle East may not keep quite stable. Therefore, to secure its own interests in the region, the US must work hard to stabilize Egypt by providing finance to secularists, Arab nationalists and liberals more than that given to the Muslim Brotherhood.
