استهدفت الدراسة الحالية رصد واقع العنف الطلابي في جامعة الكويت والكشف عن الأساليب الوقائية للحد من تفشي مظاهر العنف في المجتمع الطلابي، وتم تصميم استبانه بحثية وقد أجريت الدراسة على عينة عشوائية طبقية قوامها (1208) طلاب وطالبات من جميع الكليات، وقد كشفت نتائج الدراسة عن موافقة أفراد العينة على وجود مشكلة العنف الطلابي في جامعة الكويت وأكدوا على قصور الدور الوقائي للإدارة الجامعية للحد من مظاهر العنف الطلابي بمتوسط حسابي (3.22) على مجمل بنود واقع العنف الطلابي. وأكد أفراد العينة مشاهدتهم لمظاهر العنف بين الطلبة وكان المتوسط الحسابي لموافقتهم هو (3.39) وهذه النتيجة لها دلالاتها الخطيرة للحجم الحقيقي لمشكلة العنف الطلابي الذي يفوق ما هو مسجل لدى الإدارة الجمعية. وتشير نتائج الدراسة في عمومها إلى أن مدى تطبيق الأساليب الإجرائية من قبل الإدارة الجامعية للحد من مظاهر العنف الطلابي ضعيف بمتوسط حسابي (1.15)، علماً بأن هذه الأساليب الوقائية ملائمة وفعالة من وجهة نظر العينة للحد من العنف الطلابي. وأوصت الدراسة الإدارة الجامعية بمجموعة من التوصيات العملية والتي من أهمها تعزيز سلطتها كمؤسسة تعليم عال برفضها إتباع سياسة الواسطات والمحسوبيات، وتفعيل المساءلات والأخذ بمبدأ الثواب والعقاب، وإتباع سياسة الوقاية خير من العلاج بتوافر جهاز اختصاصي نفسي واجتماعي، وتفعيل دور الإرشاد والتوجيه من قبل مراكز متخصصة ومتخصصين.
This study aims to investigate student violence at Kuwait University, and explore alternative prevention strategies minimizing the incidents of student violence in the student community. A questionnaire was developed and distributed to a stratified sample of (1,208) students, chosen randomly from the all 14 colleges of Kuwait University. The study discovered that the individuals in the sample consent on the existence of the phenomenon of student violence at Kuwait university, and stressed the inadequacy of the preventive role of the university administration to reduce the manifestations of violence, with a mean of (3.22) on the overall terms of the reality of student violence. The sample consent on seeing the manifestations of violence between students and with a mean of approval (3.39), which has serious implications on the true magnitude of the phenomenon of student violence more than what is reported in university administration. The results also indicate the weak rule of university administration to reduce the manifestations of violence with a mean (1.15), note that the protective function of these strategis are highly effective from the viewpoint of the sample to reduce student violence. The study recommended for the university administration a set of alternative practical recommendations such as: enhance its authority by refusing to follow the favoritism, activate the accountabilities and apply the principle of reward and punishment, adopt prevention policy rather than treatment policy through providing psychological and social specialist, and activate the role of counseling and guidance by specialized centers and specialists. \
