المستخلص: the researcher recognized the great output of story writer quantitatively and qualitatively as well as his sincer love for children resonating in a series of stories such as the encyclopedia "A thousand tales and one", "the most interesting folk tales" and seven other books included in "the green library for children " . This rich output counts him among the pioneers of children story writers , however he received little critical attention which led to the present study . I picked out from yacoub's library what corresponds with the subject of the study , the values implied in the text , the relation between values and our writer's stories and their influence on children. The study follows a comprehensive method capable of including the other methods enquired the writer handled the hero child in his stories from various angles and from different social classes . He presented to him various values ,I. e Love , peace , team work , and generosity so, the researcher thought of studying the patterns of beauty is stories with what they include of artistic elements , implied , values , and life styles in addition to relation of all these elements to the contemporary Arab child . Accordingly, the researcher suggested a number of questions whose answers are the aim of the study: Could the story writer develop the thoughts and emotions of the child ? was the hero child passive of active ? did the patterns of value vary in the stories ? did the values presented satisfy the needs of the contemporary child ? did the story writer confine himself to narration or did he depend on the hero child supported with dialogue , description , dream and monologue ? Before answering the above questions , the researcher defined the patterns of value as a concept in children stories and the criterion of their success from a critical perspective contributing to children literature.
