|b This study draws lights on the economic life in Oman during the sixteenth century, as revealed by a testament of the Sultan of Nakhal city. This testament might be written at the end of the 15th century. Some items were added to the testament at the beginning of the 16th century. In the mid of the sixteenth century, there was an attempt to implement it. \\ The importance of this testament can be illustrated in the fact that it contains a diversity of rules and items that keep the rights of individuals, as articulated by the Sultan. \\ It can be deduced from this testament that .there was an economic prosperity in Oman, as well as the means by which the income resources increased at that time. \\ Therefore, this study seeks to analyze this testament using two approaches; the first one will focus on the political situation in Oman in the above-mentioned era attempting to investigate the characteristics of the Sultan personality, as well as the resources of his budget. Meanwhile, the second approach attempts to analyze the testament by examining a set of items concerning individuals whose names were mentioned in that testament. \\ Finally, the study displays the results of the analysis which reveal the significance of the socio- economic role in strengthening the Omani society.
