مصطلح التغيير بمعنى التشبيه والاستعارة وكذلك المجاز في مصطلح البلاغيين القدامى. وقد انقسم البحث إلى تمهيد وثلاثة مباحث ،تناولت في المبحث الأول مفهوم التشبيه في فكر الفلاسفة، وتناولت في المبحث الثاني مفهوم الاستعارة في فكرهم، والمبحث الثالث تناولت فيه الصورة الحسية. ومصطلح التغيير يدل على كل ما تتسم به اللغة في الصناعة الشعرية من حيل أسلوبية تجعل من القول قولاً شعرياً وكذلك يقصد به التصوير، خاصة الاستعارة والتشبيه بوصفهما ركيزتين أساسيتين للتغيير الشعري. ويقوم مفهوم التشبيه عند الفلاسفة على ذكر أداة التشبيه إذ إن حذف الأداة عندهم تجعل الشيء غيره، فلا يُعد تشبيهاً وإنما يسمى استعارة. وقد وضع الفلاسفة للاستعارة شرط أساسي إذ ينبغي أن يكون طرفا الاستعارة مبنيان على المشاركة والقرب، لتحقيق جودة الإفهام والتخييل.
