تهدف هذه الدراسة الوصفية إلى معرفة مدى استفادة أفراد المجتمع السعودي من خلال برامج المحطات الإذاعية المحلية (حكومية وخاصة)، ومدى الرضا عنها. وسيتم من خلال هذه الدراسة تحقيق عدد من الأهداف الفرعية من خلال الإجابة عن عدة تساؤلات يتعلق أبرزها بمعرفة طبيعة الاستماع للإذاعات المحلية السعودية الحكومية أو الخاصة، وأسباب عدم الاستماع لتلك المحطات، ونوعية المحطات الإذاعية والأشكال البرامجية المفضلة، بالإضافة إلى معرفة دوافع الاستماع، وهل يحقق الاستماع إشباعات لدوافع أفراد المجتمع السعودي؟ ومعرفة مدى رضا أفراد المجتمع عن الأشكال البرامجية المقدمة في الإذاعات الحكومية والخاصة، وهل توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين أفراد الجمهور وحجم استماعهم للمحطات الإذاعية الحكومية والخاصة؟ وهل توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين أفراد الجمهور في مدى رضاهم عن الأشكال البرامجية المقدمة سواء في الإذاعات الحكومية أو الخاصة؟
This is a descriptive study conducted to know how far the Saudi people benefit from the private or public local radio stations, measuring the people satisfaction about these stations. The study achieves a number of sub-objectives by having an answer to some questions. The foremost question is to know the reason why programs of the private or public local radio stations are or are not listened to. It probes the type of radio stations; favorite programs; and motives of listening to these programs. It answers whether motives for listening to such stations are satisfied or not. The study probes how far the Saudi people are satisfied with the types of programs presented by the private or public local radio stations. It discusses the satisfaction of audiences towards programs presented, and whether there are any statistically significant differences or not. The sample surveyed comprised 565 persons from Riyadh city. The figure of those who do not listen to local radio stations is 195; 34.5% of the sample answer the questions; give their personal data; and mention why they do not listen to radio stations. The figure of those who listen to radio stations are 370 persons; 65.5% of the sample and on them the study is based. The findings show that the major reason why they do not listen to local radio stations is satellite channels for they are eye-catching different to radio stations. They show also that about 42.7% of the sample prefers listening to private radio stations, followed by public governmental stations and private governmental in a row. In the survey, MBC' FM ranks the top, followed by governmental public program and private panorama in a row. On the motives behind listening to public and private radio stations, the findings show that the motives go different from private to public stations. However, there is no difference in satisfaction degrees driven from listening. The study reaches that there is no statistically significant difference in demographic features and listening habit to radio stations amongst the sample, except in the academic levels. However, the study shows that there are statistically significant differences in demographic features and satisfaction degrees towards some programs presented via the private or public radio stations. The major difference is between the demographic variables and type of programs: music, songs, arts news.
