المستخلص: استهدف البحث تقديم دراسة ميدانية عن معامل أقسام المكتبات والمعلومات بجمهورية مصر العربية. واستخدم البحث المنهج المسحي الميداني للمعامل التابعة لأقسام المكتبات والمعلومات بجامعات مصر. واشتملت نتائج البحث على بلوغ عدد أقسام المكتبات والمعلومات التي تعمل تسعة عشر قسماً بالجامعات المصرية. وستة عشر قسماً منها تابع لكلية الآداب وثلاثة أقسام تابعة لجامعة الأزهر. وبالرغم من أهمية معامل أقسام المكتبات والمعلومات في تطبيق العمليات الفنية والتدريب عليها وعلى استخدام الأجهزة والوسائل الحديثة في حفظ المعلومات واسترجاعها إلا أن هذه المعامل لا تتوفر إلا في ثمانية أقسام فقط ترجع إلى كلية الأداب جامعة القاهرة، وعين شمس، والمنوفية، الإسكندرية، بنى سويف، أسيوط، حلوان،الفيوم. ورجع عدم انتشار أقسام المكتبات والمعلومات بمصر لعدة أسباب من أهمها حداثة معظم أقسام المكتبات والمعلومات بمصر، وعدم توافر الميزانية اللازمة لتوفير موقع مناسب لهذه المعامل مجهز بالتجهيزات والوسائل والأجهزة الكافية واللازمة، وعدم اهتمام أيضاً الإدارة وإدراكها لأهمية هذه الأقسام. وأوصى البحث بضرورة العمل على توافر الأنواع الثلاثة من المعامل، وهي المعمل البيليوجرافي ومعمل الحاسب الآلي ومعمل الأجهزة والوسائل السمعية والبصرية، بكل قسم من أقسام المكتبات والمعلومات بمصر كي نستطيع هذه الأقسام تحقيق أهدافها، وتوفير الكوادر المؤهلة والمدربة والكافية للعمل بمعامل أقسام المكتبات والمعلومات، حتى تستطيع القيام بمهامها على أكمل وجه.

The aim of the research was to provide a field study on the laboratories of the libraries and information departments in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The research used the field survey approach for the laboratories of the libraries and information departments in the universities of Egypt. The results of the research included the number of the libraries and information departments which were operating in 19 departments in the Egyptian universities and sixteen sections of which are affiliated to the Faculty of Arts and three sections of Al-Azhar University. In spite of the importance of the laboratories and information departments in the application of technical processes and training on it and the use of the modern devices and methods in the preservation and retrieval of the information, these labs are available only in eight sections due to the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, Ain Shams, Menoufia, Alexandria, Beni Suef, Assiut, Helwan and Fayoum. The non-proliferation of the libraries and information departments in Egypt was due to several reasons, most notably the novelty of most of the libraries and information departments in Egypt, the lack of the necessary budget to provide a suitable location for these laboratories equipped with the adequate and necessary equipment and devices and the administration's lack of interest and awareness of the importance of these departments. The research recommended working on the availability of the three types of laboratories which are the biolographic laboratory, the computer lab, the equipment lab and the audio-visual equipment in each section of the libraries and information in Egypt so that these departments can achieve their objectives and the provision of qualified, trained and sufficient personnel to work in the laboratories of the departments of libraries and information, so that it can carry out its tasks to the fullest.
