كثرت وسائط الاتصال والتبليغ في حاضرنا، وأضحت حاضرة بقوة في حياتنا، ترسم منهجها، ومشاركة في تحديد اتجاهاتنا ومواقفنا، وكيف نتعامل مع الآخر. ومن تلك الوسائط الأكثر تأثيرًا: المحاضرة الجامعية، لما لها من وقع كبير على أفكار الطلبة الجامعيين، ولما تتسم به من طول المجالسة والصحبة مع الأستاذ المحاضر. إن الأستاذ الجامعي، وهو يقوم به بهذه المهمة النبيلة، لا يقتصر دوره في إيصال المعلومة بالمنهج الذي ارتضاه، وإنما عليه عبء ومسئولية جد خطيرة، تستدعي منه بذل كل طاقته، وجمع كل قواه الفكرية والعلمية في بناء فكر الوسطي؛ لأن به تسترجع الجامعة مكانتها في المجتمع، ودورها الرائد في دفع بالتنمية بكل مجالاتها إلى الأمام، ولا يقتصر دورها في تكوين أفواج من الخريجين لا تصور لهم ولا منهج، والأخطر من ذلك أن ينعتوا بالتطرف والانحلال. إن الأستاذ في محاضرته وهو يستلهم من نقاط محاضرته دلائل الوسطية والاعتدال، وينبه على تلك المظان، لا شك أنه يضع لبنات متجذرة في إعادة الصرح المجيد التليد لأمتنا العربية الإسلامية. ومن الركائز الأولية لذلك الصرح، الأخذ بسنة الوسطية والاعتدال، والعض عليه بالنواجذ وصياغة التصورات تحت مظلتها، وهو من أهم العوامل في التحضير لتنمية بشرية تكون هي الجذور والأصول التي يُبنى بها الفكر المعتدل والحضارة.
Nowadays communication media became widespread and are powerfully present in our life. They are influencing our way of life, contributing in determining our tendencies and attitudes and how we should treat the other. Among these media university lecturing ranks as one of the most influential ones, due to its great impact on students' thinking as well as to the long companionship with the lecturer. As he fulfills this noble task, the role of the university lecturer is not limited to the transmission of information through his accepted method, but he rather has the dangerous burden and responsibility that call upon him to dispense all his energy and make full use of his intellectual and scientific capabilities to build the thought of a wassati (someone with a middle stand). With such a kind of thought, the university wins back its position in society and its pioneering role in boosting development in all fields. The university role is not limited to training graduates devoid of any concept or methodology. Worse would be the case if they are dubbed bigots or degenerate. When the professor gives his lecture and in it he stresses mode.ation and the wassatia position he certainly puts good milestones on the road of our Arab and Islamic nation to regain its glory. To reach this aim. the preliminary fundamentals would be to adopt the wassatia sunnah and moderation and to preserve them strongly and to formulate concepts under their umbrella . This would be one of the most important factors in preparing for a human development that would be the roots and origins upon which a civilization and a moderate thought could be built.
