Title: The concept of knowledge in the Qur'an and its influence of the Methodologies of Muslims Scholars. This article deals with the epistemology of the Qur’an, and its impact on the methodologies of Muslims scholars. The Qur’an is not a book of sciences, however it refers to many facts about the Universe and its components: The earth, the sky, the sun and the moon, the animals and Plants, rivers and seas, human beings and other living creatures. The Qur’an refers to this natural phenomenon, and continuously encouraged Muslims to look through the universe and travel through die earth to attain information on the natural phenomenon. The articles tries to explore the sources of knowledge in the Qur’an, and pointed out to the Revelation (the Qur’an and Sunnah), and The Universe as the main sources of Knowledge. Then it tried to explain the tools for attaining knowledge. It refers to senses, Reason, and Intuitions as ways of attaining knowledge from the Universe and the Revelation. Then the article moved on to explain the impact of the Qur’an on the methodologies of the Muslims scholars, and showed how they benefited from the Qur’an to formulate their methodologies. Upon the Qur’an, the Traditionists (muhadithin) formulate their methodology of scrutinizing the Prophet’s Traditions, and the scholars of the principles of Jurisprudence (‘ulamausul al fiqh) used the Qur’an methodology to formulate their methods of investigation and development of legal provisions. And upon the scientific facts referred to in the Quran, the Muslims scientists coined their experimental methodology of the discovery and verification of scientific facts. The Muslim theologians based their methodology on the verses of the Koran. The Sufis found bases for their spiritual experiences in the verses of the Holy Book. The article showed that most of the Islamic Sciences are based on the Koran, and that the Koran was the prime reference for Muslim scholars in various fields of experimental sciences and human knowledge. The article concluded by referring to the integration of knowledge in the perception of Islam, and the consistency between all types of knowledge, in the Qur’an: The metaphysical and scientific knowledge, revelation and the universe.
