المستخلص: The separation of the Southern Sudan is going to generate many overlapping influences in the structure and composition of the unified Sudanese state geographically, politically and economically. The most affected areas with the separation are the contingency areas. Therefore. This study was concerned with the issue of economic interpenetration between the tribal formations situated in the borderline between the North and The South. The study concluded that the economic activity of the contingency tribes which depends basically on agriculture and pasturing needs strong efforts from the state to downsize the negative impacts of the separation of the South which represents a vital sphere for these tribes. These transformations require a strong partnership between civil society institutions from one side and the state from another side. Moreover. The study recommends the utilization of some of the oil and mineral returns extracted in these areas in developmental and economic schemes to relies. some extent of political and social stability for the contingency tribes
