تعتبر المعلومات شريان الحياة في أي جهاز إداري، حيث تلعب دورًا بالغ الأهمية في عملية اتخاذ القرارات. وإن قطاع التربية يعد من أكثر القطاعات حيوية، ذلك لما يقدمه من خدمات، وما يقع على عاتقه من مهام غاية في الأهمية. من هذا المنطلق جاءت فكرة هذه الدراسة، والتي تبلورت مشكلتها في التساؤل الرئيسي التالي: ما هو الدور الذي تلعبه المعلومات في اتخاذ القرارات بالمؤسسات التعليمية؟ وتنبع أهمية هذا البحث من التأكيد على توفير المعلومة الدقيقة، الملائمة والشاملة من أجل أخد القرارات الأكثر رشدا. أهميته كذلك ملموسة من خلال التوجيه الأكاديمي. في هذه الدراسة استخدمنا المنهج الوصفي التحليلي مع انجاز استمارة استبانه متكونة من خمسة محاور و64 سؤالا موزعة على أفراد العينة لنتحصل على إجابة 53 مدير ثانوية و150 مدير إكمالية. إن أهم مصادر جمع المعلومات اللازمة لاتخاذ القرارات بالمؤسسات التعليمية موضوع الدراسة هي: القوانين والنصوص التشريعية، الدراسات والأبحاث، الخطط والمخططات التنفيذية، التقارير الرسمية والكتب المرجعية المتخصصة. كما أن أكبر الطرائق المستخدمة للحصول على المعلومات اللازمة لاتخاذ القرارات بالمؤسسات التعليمية تكمن في جمع أفراد العينة للمعلومات بأنفسهم، استخدام جميع الموارد المتاحة للحصول على المعلومات، جمع المعلومات من عدة مصادر للحصول على المعلومات المناسبة، الاعتماد على القراءة ونتائج الدراسات وتوزيع المهام على عدد من المرؤوسين.
Information represents a central constituent in all administrative systems, and Educational sector. It occupies a special importance. Based on this generalization, the present study addresses the following main question: What is the relative role on information in the decision making process at all educational establishments? So the importance of the present research stems from the significance of the subject at hand, for a sound and effective decision requires precise, accurate and exhaustive information. Its importance is also comprehensible from another perspective. In its specific areas, it portends a constructive contribution of academic orientation. The present study seeks not only to cherish specification of the important sources related to data collection on decision making in educational establishments, but also aims at identifying the methods used to access needed information relative to the decision making. It also tries to identify the relative effectiveness of information in a decision making process at educational establishments. Finally it aims at identifying the steps pursued towards enhancing the effective role of information in the decision making process, and demonstrating important problems confronted by the decision makers in accessing the information at educational establishments. The present researcher has used a descriptive-analytical approach. She has also employed a questionnaire that comprised 64 phrases and five themes. The questionnaire was handed out to 203 persons. Among the latter 53 were headmasters of secondary schools and 150 were headmasters of college establishments. \
