This research tackles an important issue , Thi-Qar and its water surface areaes in Islamic epoch ( 1 – 656 H ) study in its social and economic status , due to its remarkable role in Islamic history , for these surface areaes are parts of the sedimentary plain . where this plain was the location of the Islamic regime opposition fighters , plus it was a fertile land farmed by those came from Africa and India to agriculture it . The study is of three chapters : - The first chapter is of two sections . The first studies the historical important and natural formation of those water surface areaes . whereas the second study the geographical features of those areases for there are many signs confirming the areaes as river cities . - The second chapter is of three sections . The first studies society sorts of people in the areaes . The second investigates the society classes . The third section studies the society tradition in the water surface areaes . - The third chapter studies the agricultural conditions in the areases for it was fertile land with available farmers from the original residents plus the new comers . The second section studies the industry and the most important crafts in the areaes . while the third studies the trade , in its interior and foreign sorts - Then the research presents the results of the study .
