|a First, I thank Allah the All Mighty for his guidance and help in every step taken by me to accomplish this study, and God bless Prophet Mohammed, the Messenger of mercy to all people on earth, and his family and grant them salvation. The question of Godhood –the belief or disbelief in the presence of a creator for this universe- is important and dangerous at the same time, hence many and complicated issues in human thought and behavior rely on so far; therefore we find the atheists at all ages are the most corrupted people in their thoughts and conducts for the non-existence of a religious deterrent represented by the human conscience that prevents the person from doing wrong and bad whether under laws and regulations or not, opposite to the faithful who believe in Allah, the Supreme Being. The Jewish philosopher, doctor and thinker (Musa bin Maimoon, who was well-known in the Middle Ages, is regarded the most prominent in addressing the topic of Godhood among the Jews at the ancient era in research, discussion and analysis in his famous book (Dalalatul Ha'ireen) in which he routed the same as the Islamic philosophers coincidently between the interpreted text and the reasonable logic to remove the external disagreement through the exegesis of text meanings concerning the divine being, its essence and characteristics. His book "Dalalatul Ha'ireen" is considered the most important Jewish mental product in the field of divine philosophy. This is what we will address with study, research and discussion then comparison with the Godhood concept among Muslims and the most important differences and merits with what Ibn Maimoon mentioned in his book Dalalatul Ha'ireen exclusively. This study is important, especially in defending the Islamic dogma against the enemies' trials of semi-mentalism and sophism. It indicates the effect extent of the Arab and Islamic culture on the Jews and the European world which was drowning in darkness and ignorance.
|a What really has induced me into studying this topic analytically and comparatively with no offence to others, unless for criticism and discussion required to fulfill the scientific research method such as disputes and disagreements in some issue or question. As to the most important hardships and difficulties faced in preparing this research, all of us are experiencing the same bad conditions and circumstances because of occupation which was the reason behind the fragmentation of my family and life difficulty with the demand of my working at the same time. Then comes the difficulty of obtaining the scientific material for research and the unavailability of several references as well as the road closures. The research is divided into two parts. Each part contains three basic chapters. Then, each chapter is divided into sections if necessary. The introductory pages are included as well as the conclusion and results at the research end. The first chapter deals with the leading-up researches in the impact of Arab and Islamic culture and thought on the European culture and Jews who played a great role in it through interpretation and translation. Also it covers the importance and role of Andalusia in that impact for it represents the main link between the East and West. Moreover, there is a special section to demonstrate the effect of Islamic philosophy and philosophers on Europe and the Jews so as to reach later on to the effect of all on the personality and thought of Musa bin Maimoon Al-Qurtubi Al-Andalusi through knowing the most important events and influences at his age and place in special. The second chapter discusses Musa bin Maimoon's life like his kinship, birth, growth, masters and students… etc and the effect of Arab Islamic thought on his philosophy as well as his literary works and his book "Dalalatul Ha'ireen" with definition, purpose behind writing it, number of inscribed and printed copies, number of its parts, topics, its importance to the Jews and its influence on many thought leaders in Europe. As to chapter three, it addresses the 25 introductions of the God's existence mentioned by Musa bin Maimoon with explanation depending on its explainer Mohammed bin Abi Bakir Al-Tabrizi in addition to discussing its contents of disagreement, belief and the right face at disagreement. The second part displays the content of "Dalalatul Ha'ireen" of chapters and sayings in Godhood leading-up to Godhood definition in language and term. It is arranged the same way the book was arranged in sections and logic order taken by Ibn Maimoon in exposure then discussion for each section alone. The second chapter is dedicated to God's names and characteristics to be dealt with individually with display and discussion. The third chapter is concerned with the Godhood concept among Muslims and its most important merits and difference from Musa bin Maimoon's concept. It also includes the opinions of Islamic theologians and philosophers and their mazhabs in commenting the characteristics. Ultimately comes the conclusion and the research results. Finally, I hope from Allah, the All Mighty, that He accepts my work well and make it sincere for His sake. I also ask Him, the Supreme Being, to guide us to the right and reason and make my modest work a useful fruit for science seeking students.
