اتسعت حركت تأليف المعاجم التربوية باللغة العربية، في النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين، ومطلع القرن الحادي والعشرين من الألفية الثالثة. وفي المقابل، فإن دراسة هذه المعاجم (أو تحليلها، أو التعرف إلى قيمتها في الميدان التربوي العربي) لم تلق من الباحثين أي عناية تذكر. وربما تكون الدراسة الحالية هي الدراسة الأولى في هذا المجال: مجال دراسة المعاجم التربوية العربية: لأنها تلقي الضوء عليها من جديد؛ ولأنها تحاول أن تعمل على بيان صورتها الحقيقية في أذهان التربويين في البيئات العربية التربوية المختلفة. ومن هنا ينبثق السؤال الرئيسي في هذه الدراسة: ما أهمية المعاجم التربوية المكتوبة باللغة العربية، من وجهة نظر التربويين؟ وللإجابة عن هذا السؤال المحوري، فقد تم اختيار ثلاث عينات ممثلة- بطريقة عشوائية. العينة الأول: مجموعة من أعضاء هيئة التدريس في الجامعات العربية (164 عضواً)/ العينة الثانية: مجموعة من طلال الدكتوراه الذين يتخصصون في فروع التربية (70 طالباً)/ العينة الثالثة: مجموع من طلاب الماجستير التربويين (85 طالباً). وقد صممت استبانة خاصة لهذا الغرض. وكشفت النتائج عن اتفاق جميع أفراد العينات الثلاث على أهمية المعاجم التربوية بالنسبة لدراساتهم وتخصصاتهم. وأكدت هذه النتائج أيضاً أن المعجم التربوي العربي أصبح مطلباً ضرورياً لكل طالب علم في مجال التربية، أو في أي مجال آخر له صلة بالتربية. أما توصيات هذه الدراسة فكانت على النحو التالي: ضرورة بناء معجم شامل للمصطلحات التربوية بفروعها المختلفة ليكون مرجعاً أساسياً في هذا المجال/ التأكيد على كتابة المصطلحات التربوية الإنجليزية إلى جانب المصطلحات التربوية العربية المعادلة لها/ حث أعضاء هيئة التدريس في التخصصات الأخرى (غير التربوية) على إعداد معاجم خاصة بالمقررات التي يدرسونها لطلابهم.
The movement of educational dictionaries, written in Arabic has widened in the second half of the twentieth century, and the beginning of the twenty- first century of the third millennium. The process of studying these dictionaries has not received any attention from modern Arab researchers. It might be said that the present team work study is the first study in the area of bridging the gab between Arabic educational dictionaries and Arab educationalists involved in the different branches of the educational sciences. From here, arises the main question in this study: What is the importance of the educational dictionaries written in Arabic, from the viewpoint of Arab educationalists9 the present study aims at shedding light on the Arabic educational dictionaries, in order to illuminate their value and weight for educationalists in various Arab environments. Three sample of Arabic scholars (Specializing in education and working at universities) where randomly selected: the first sample consists of 164 members of teaching staff, the second sample represents 70 postgraduate students reading for PhDs, and the third sample is made up of 85 MA postgraduate students. The findings of the study reveal a major fact: there is no statistically significant difference between the three samples, because all of them show agreement on the importance on the educational dictionaries which are relevant for their studies, and careers. There is no doubt, that this result confirms that the educational dictionaries arc an essential requirement for each student in the field of education. In conclusion, the study recommends out the following: to build a comprehensive dictionary of terms of education (different branches), so that it can be an essential reference for specialists in education and for the other readers in related fields/ to write down educational terms in English along with their equivalent in Arabic (the corresponding Arabic)/ to highlight the development that have occurred in the meanings of the new terms and to reveal their connotations/ and to encourage Arab scholars in other subjects (university level) to compose special dictionaries in their fields of knowledge
